About Us

Circular Venture AS is a consulting firm dedicated to sustainable plastic waste management and pyrolysis-based chemical recycling. We help companies recover value from end-of-life plastics, reduce landfill and incineration, and enable a transition to a circular economy that delivers both environmental benefits and economic returns.

The Importance of chemical recycling

As plastic pollution grows and traditional recycling falls short, chemical recycling stands out as a real breakthrough. By breaking polymers down to their core molecules, it turns even mixed or contaminated plastics into new feedstock. The process doesn’t compete with mechanical recycling — it strengthens it — and creates new revenue opportunities for sustainable resource management, pushing society closer to a true circular economy

Our Services

Analytical & Process Support

Laboratory analyses and tests to determine whether our partners’ plastics are suitable for chemical recycling.

Waste & Feedstock Qualification

We assess plastic streams for suitability in chemical recycling and help establish traceability for ISCC+ and other standards.

Supply Chain & Contracts

Structuring long‑term supply agreements with waste management partners to secure stable feedstock.

Project Development & Partnerships

Support for pilot trials, pilot planning and industrial scaling in collaboration with technology partners.

Plastics We Analyse

We work with multiple plastic streams — industrial, maritime, agricultural and post‑consumer — each requiring specific handling and qualification.

ISCC+ certified plastics

At Circular Venture, we support our partners with ISCC+ certified plastics for chemical recycling.

Read more about ISCC+

What is ISCC+?

ISCC+ (International Sustainability and Carbon Certification) is a globally recognized system that ensures transparent, sustainable, and fully traceable supply chains.

Why it matters

Demand for ISCC+‑certified input materials is growing among recyclers. We help partners meet this requirement with qualified, traceable feedstock.

What it proves

An ISCC+ certificate verifies that materials originate from a sustainable supply chain—giving consumers confidence in environmentally responsible choices and providing recovery facilities with documented proof of product sustainability.

Partnerships and Projects

WPU - Vitol

WPU upcycles end‑of‑life plastic waste to oil; using batch pyrolysis technology, the end product is used as a petrochemical feedstock in the production of recycled plastics.

Circular Venture has entered into an agreement with KRS AB – Kretsløp Recycling Sweden – to test agricultural plastics for chemical recycling at WPU, a facility in Denmark owned by Vitol.

2024-12-09 · Cyclezyme AB: Cyclezyme AB moves on to the final phase of the feasibility study on the degradation of PET plastic

Our company establishes projects with partners and participates in all parts of the circular value chain.

Cyclezyme AB (publ.) today announces that the optimization phase of the feasibility study on the degradation of PET plastic has been successfully completed. The results have shown that the enzyme can effectively pre-treat mixed plastic waste and selectively degrade PET plastic. This means that Cyclezyme is now moving on to the final phase of the feasibility study, scale-up of enzyme-treated plastic with subsequent pyrolysis of the plastic through so-called chemical recycling.

Peter Falck, CEO of Cyclezyme AB, comments:
"We are very pleased with the results from the optimization phase and agree with our partner Circular Venture that we are now ready to move on to the final part of the feasibility study. It is an important step towards establishing a sustainable solution for the management of mixed plastic waste through selective degradation of PET. If the results in the final part of the feasibility study show that enzymatic treatment of mixed plastic improves the quality of the recycled pyrolysis oil, this will open up opportunities for a commercial agreement."

Comment from Circular Venture AS
Geir Langeland, Chairman of the Board of Circular Venture AS, comments:
"I believe that Cyclezyme is at the forefront in Europe with its enzymatic platform. The collaboration with Cyclezyme has worked excellently so far. The company's enzymes and process for breaking down PET from consumer plastic show promising results. Phase 2 shows a basis for commercialization as a component in chemical recovery of consumer plastic. Phase 3 is a so-called proof of concept, which in turn can lay the foundation for an industrial pilot."
